Imagination In Virtual Education Worlds: VWBPE 2010
This year’s Virtual Worlds Best Practices in Education conference aims to focus on imagination. Themed Imagination Around the World, this free virtual event takes place in Second Life on March 12–13. Second Life is growing as a venue for education at multiple grade levels.
Remix The Planet: Punk to Dub
Open remixing will put more diverse and imaginative music into scene than ever before. Alkaline Trio—the punk-rock band that inspired me to start my music career—recently held an open remix contest via Indaba Music. Audio remixes give songs alternate lives, they break barriers, and they transcend genres.

Music in The Virtual Realm
We are on the brink of an online music collaboration explosion in the years to come. Eric Steuer at Wired Magazine wrote an important article, Group Effort: Solo Musicians Band Together on Collaboration Web Sites, covering 10 of today’s top virtual jam session sites. The possibilities are infinite—it’s only 2009, and virtual technology is developing at warp speed.
